House points - Climate Week

Last week was 'Climate Week', a week dedicated to raising awareness about the problems facing our planet to do with climate change.

An honourable member of Lupus house (Miss Sweeney) organised various different activities everyone could take part in during lunchtime. We were told house points were on offer so of course house members gladly took part.
The activities were really fun and enjoyable for girls throughout the school, we like to thank Miss Sweeney for offering these activities and we would also like to thank all the Lupus House girls who got involved as every house point makes a difference!

Humanities Quiz

Well done to everybody in Lupus who took part in the Humanities Quiz at lunch time on the 27th February, you did a fantastic job despite the Results:

1st Place: Osira
2nd Place: Caduceus
3rd place: Phoenix and Lupus

We have a fantastic lead on the other houses, hopefully this will not be too much of a setback, but should encourage us to continue to earn housepoints! There are not only the Caduceus and Phoenix house charity events coming up but there is also Science Week too! Remember to collect your housepoints from your teachers and offer to do some little jobs in return for housepoints too!
Well done everyone!

Charity Event

This year we decided since it was national poetry day on Thursday the 3rd October, to organise a poetry competition. The theme of this years poetry day was water, so we decided to maintain this theme and all entries had to stay within this theme. As a treat, all girls who entered a poem were allowed to come in on non-uniform on the Friday.
This event was a huge success and almost every girl in the school submitted a poem. This made our decision as judges very difficult to decide the winner and we thoroughly enjoyed reading the wide rabge of poems. However we did choose  Junior and Senior winner from Lupus House. Here are their poems:

Hannnah Balogun-Senior Winner

I stand on the riverbank
Am I doing the right thing?
I can hear the river flowing
It's so tempting

I jump
Immediately regretting it
Help me
I'm dorwning

My head hurts
I hit it
Help me
I'm hurting

I feel numb
I'm so cold
Help me
I can't breath

The water
It's suffocating me
Help me

Risa Maede-Junior Winner

I like to splash in the sea.
I like to eat ice cream by the sea.
I like to drink water.
I like rain.
I would like to be a rain fairy.
I would do magic in the rain.

Once again a big thank you to everyone who took part and helpes us raise a fantastic £264.05 for Rays of sunshine. We also gained 364 housepoints which has put us firmly in the lead.

Charity We Support

Lupus House supports a fantastic charity called Rays of Sunshine, a charity which grants wishes to children living with serious or life-threatening ilnesses. It's an amazing charity to support and we are very proud of the money we managed to raise last year and hope that this year's charity event does even better.

If you would like to find out more about this organisation follow this link- https://www.raysofsunshine.org.uk/

Gothic Tales

On the Sunday 13th October a number of girls from the senior school went to John Lewis in Brent Cross to sell Gothic Tales - A Cornucopia of Creepy Stories, Music Art & Poetry and to represent the school.

We were awarded for each book sold and I am very pleased to say that lupus house representatives did a fantastic job and were awarded 80 housepoints.

House Meeting

We have already had our first house meeting, where we remineded everyone of the lupus song (which you can find here on the house blog)  and had a general catch up on upcoming house events. We also revealed our house charity event which was a poetry competition and non uniform day.
